K'taka crisis: Deadline announced by Speaker
Karnataka: On Tuesday, the Karnataka Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar had made hurtful comments regarding the near empty treasury benches in the house. After 16 lawmakers belonging to the Congress-Janata Dal Secular coalition, resigned and two independents had withdrawn support. As a test of strength, a deadline of up to 6 PM has been set. "Should this be the fate of the Speaker or the assembly?. You will lose credibility, leave alone strength," Mr Kumar demanded.

The thirteen rebel lawmakers of the unsteady Congress-JDS coalition have also written to the Speaker asking him, four weeks' time to meet him over a disqualification notice filed against them. As per sources, the Supreme Court today, had said if the floor test is not held, tomorrow it shall hear the plea of two independent lawmakers who have taken the decision to support the BJP.
